This Goanna Dreaming comes from Yarripilagku, south-west of Yuendumu. It tells the story of a group Warlpiri women all sitting down in a circle, which is represented by the concentric circles. A man from Mt Theo cameup to the women because he wanted to take a girl of the wrong skin. He took a woman and they they went up the hill to make love. Then the earth turned to yellow and white ochre and the man turned himself as well as all the women into Goannas. The ochre is still found on top of the hill and is used today for love magicand for ceremonial decoration.
