The central lines are the roots of the plants spreading out across the landscape, while the circles on either end represent the plants. The short dashes are the flying ants.

Bessie Nakamarra Sims is the wife of Paddy Japaltjarri Sims, they have 7 children and many grandchildren. Bessie aws born in the bush and lived a traditional lifestyle for many years before coming into contact with white people at Mount Doreen Station, west of Yuendumu. She now lives in South Camp at Yuendumu and is an active member of Yuedumu Night Patrol, which helps keep Yuendumu a safe community. In her spare time she goes hunting for goanna and bush tucker such as bush potato and bush tomato.

Bessie has been painting for Warkurlangu Artists for many years and is held in many major public and private collections.
