Gloria's painting represents leaves as she sees them on the ground and being blown by the wind.

Gloria Petyarre was born in 1945 in the Utopia region of Central Australia and has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions since the late 1970's. She first gained recognition in silk batik with exhibitions held nationally and internationally. In the mid 1980's she began to paint and has continued to work in this medium. Gloria and five of her sisters (Ada, Kathleen, Nancy, Myrtle and Violet) are all recognised artists. Gloria is held in many major collections in both Australia and overseas.
