This painting depicts designs associated with the rockhole site of Marrapinti, west of the Pollock Hills in Western Australia. The lines in this painting depict the sandhills surrounding this site.
In ancestral times a group of women camped at this site and made nose bones, also known as marrapinti. The nose bones were originally worn by both men and women but are now only inserted by the older generation on ceremonial occasions.
