About Mina Mina Art Gallery

Mina Mina Art Gallery, situated in the idyllic, picturesque village of Brunswick Heads just 15 kms from popular Byron Bay on the Far North Coast of New South Wales deals exclusively in quality indigenous fine art and craft.

Aboriginal art expert and lecturer, Owner/Director Roslyn Goodchild opened Mina Mina Art Gallery in July 2004, after moving to the area from Alice Springs. She has created an intimate and elegant space to showcase works by established and emerging indigenous artists.

Mina Mina Art Gallery exhibits an inspiring range of works, which display the rich cultural diversity that is Aboriginal Art. To this end, the gallery brings together a quality selection of paintings and crafts featuring work from Australiaís Central and Western Desert regions, The Kimberleys, Arnhem Land, south-east Queensland and the Northern Rivers region of NSW.

Mina Mina Art Gallery, located opposite the beautiful Brunswick River in Mullumbimbi Street, Brunswick Heads, is named after a remote sacred site near Lake Mackay’ , in the Northern Territory. Traditional custodian of the site and acclaimed Warlpiri artist, Dorothy Napangardi, whom Roslyn worked very closely with during her time in Alice Springs, granted special permission to use the name for the gallery.

Committed to ensuring artists rights, Roslyn personally sources the art direct from artists cooperatives and all paintings from Mina Mina Art Gallery are sold with provenance supplied by the primary source. Roslyn is now also working directly with artists from the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales in order to encourage and promote the local art movement.
